Betrayal is one of the hardest experiences to endure in life. It shatters trust, often breaking bonds with those we love, respect, or admire. In many cases, it leaves our perception irreparably altered.
When someone cheats, lies, or dishonors you, it can shake the very foundations of your reality, plunging you into despair.
I’m not writing this to reveal the dark and twisted tales of betrayal I’ve encountered over my 45 years. It’s murky and unproductive to dwell on the specifics of how and when personal or professional relationships fell apart.
Ultimately, the blame game and back-and-forth accusations always lead to the same place—a lack of accountability and self-responsibility.
Here’s the truth:
There have been many times my heart has been broken by others. I’m self-aware enough to acknowledge that I, too, have caused pain. We’re all human, and life isn’t about perfection. It’s about recognizing when someone crosses the boundaries of your value system.
